Kaiut Yoga attends to the needs and ailments of the modern human: down- regulating and balancing our overworked nervous systems, holistically addressing the repercussions of too much sitting and the impacts of repetitive use, maintaining and even recovering the mobility in worn out and aging joints. This practice restores the body’s natural ability to balance, heal and evolve.

As we regain our freedom of movement and neurological health, old injures heal, chronic tension and stiffness dissolve, and we become more mobile and flexible in all aspects of life.

Our bodies and our minds need ongoing maintenance in order to function well. Without this maintenance the unchecked habits of body and mind twist and wind our tendencies into contracted, fearful, distracted patterns. Practicing yoga is not so much exercise as it is necessary maintenance or hygiene for the systems of the body, the fluctuations of the mind, and the contractions of the life energy.

Yoga is an ancient tool that has been around for thousands of years. The original gift of yoga arose as a way of assisting humans in staying connected to the power and health of Nature within us. We are Nature - we are part of nature, but we are also nature itself - living, breathing, and animating our lives. Yoga returns us to this innate state of intelligence and optimal capacity. Recall in your own DNA the cellular memory of running at top speed to catch your next meal or squatting for hours as you chat up friends and weave a basket. These functional movements are what our bodies are designed for - a highly sophisticated intelligent organism, capable of incredible things.

However, possibly much like yourself, most modern humans spend hours each day sitting, with minds distractedly full of information, emotional incoherence and a kind of stress that produces high rates of illness in ‘thriving’ environments: healthy lifestyles, fulfilling work, healing mindsets, etc. Francisco Kaiut, developer of The Kaiut Yoga Method, gave us all a very important gift. He studied the ancient yogic texts, and the postures, and developed a pathway into the postures and practice of Yoga that takes into consideration the modern body, the modern lifestyle, the modern problem of lack of wellness.Yoga as an ancient tool, maybe now more necessary than ever, is here to rescue the fragility and rigidity inside the modern body-mind and return our entire system to its optimal and adaptive functioning.

Kaiut Yoga classes utilize the seed of traditional Yoga poses, applied to the modern body and the modern lifestyle. All the poses are progressive. This means that they are accessible for any body of any age, stage and ability. All postures are approached in a way that meets your body exactly where it is. The pose as a direction, not a goal. Much of the work is done on the floor at a gentle pace with very accessible guidance; welcoming places that need to be reduced from pain while also challenging the system to grow and evolve.

Kaiut Yoga is not about making your body to do something that looks like the perfect picture you have seen in a yoga journal. It is about discovering what you can do and regaining mobility and adaptability as you age.

The Kaiut Yoga Method is designed to rescue the incredible potential available within us all. We are made to heal and to grow. We are capable of recovering and regenerating. We can recover from major injury and trauma. We can regenerate at the level of our tissues, and we can also discover new ways of experiencing life. We are capable of aging in a way that does not incur more and more disability, but opens the opportunity to grow endlessly.

~Megan's Story with Kaiut Yoga~

I am gifted in this life with a body that has been through great challenges. I was born without hip sockets - bilateral congenital hip dislocation. I had many reconstructive hip surgeries, followed by full body casts, on and off throughout my young life. When my orthopedic doctor ‘graduated’ me at age 18, he said, “Well, we have done everything we can for you. Expect that you will need your hips replaced by the time you are 40.” I am nearing 50 and I have no arthritis or degeneration in my hips. I live in my odd blessed body quite comfortably, and I feel only hope for my future.

When I met Francisco in 2015, at 38, despite being on a healing journey for decades already, I was moving into more and more chronic pain. The doc’s prediction was in my future somewhere. I could feel it in the nagging inflammation in the right hip, the chronic low back pain, the migraine headaches. I had been my own greatest client for the last 20 years, caring for myself through the experience of every modality I have studied and woven into my healing basket. But still, the signs were there: the pain and limitations that foreshadowed the inevitable arthritis, the eventual hip replacements and a slow degrade into a painful old age.

None of that is true anymore. My body is still my teacher, I feel a lot, but my vision of myself at 85 has shifted from being in a wheelchair, to not being in one. I am open to needing joint replacements if I do need them, and I live with freedom, no arthritis, only more and more mobility and deep harmony in my body and in my life.

Francisco developed the Kaiut Yoga Method out of his own need to contend with a body in pain. He studied and learned and researched and developed something that helps him and that he can offer to the world in a safe, repeatable, effective way. He continues to refine and adjust and evolve the work as his understanding deepens.

When I met Francisco and found Kaiut Yoga, something happened for me. I immediately recognized that much of what I had learned about healing made sense inside the form of the Kaiut Yoga Method. It resonated in my body as correct on such a deep level that I knew it could save me from tremendous loss in this life. This offering as a Kaiut Yoga teacher is my response to that. I feel that the best thing I can offer my clients and students is this method that helped me move out of physical restriction and into greater freedom and health.

I practice most every day. My Kaiut Yoga practice is the tool that keeps my body from locking up in scar tissue and trauma, stress and lack of mobility. When my body is free, my mind follows, my heart responds, my life comes ever more into harmony. This is just the way it is. My life is not special or unique in this way. Everyone who does yoga properly, with the right orientation in mind, has the ability to benefit in the way that I have. The way that thousands of Kaiut Yoga students have. Kaiut Yoga addresses the whole human being, from our joints to our skin, our habits to our luminosity. Come, drink from the well of your deep intelligence. It is not hard, you just have to do it.
